Today's Quotes - Robert Allan Zimmerman

posted May 24, 2009, 5:19 AM by Amazing Anastasia
Robert Allan Zimmerman was born at Duluth, Minnesota on this
day in 1941. He grew up in Hibbing and Harding, poor mining
towns, and played guitar in a couple of bands in high school.
He performed folk and country songs at bars and coffee houses
in Minneapolis while going to the University of Minnesota,
then left school and moved to New York's Greenwich Village in
1961, adopting the name Bob Dylan. The poetry he wrote and
turned into song wasn't always easy to listen to, but his was
one of the most important voices of the '60s and '70s.

Today's Quotes:

Being noticed can be a burden. Jesus got himself crucified
because he got himself noticed. So I disappear a lot.

I accept chaos, I'm not sure whether it accepts me.

People seldom do what they believe in. They do what is
convenient, then repent.

When you feel in your gut what you are and then dynamically
pursue it - don't back down and don't give up - then you're
going to mystify a lot of folks.

It was like a flying saucer landed. That's what the sixties
were like. Everybody heard about it, but only a few really saw it.
